The world day for safety and health at work are celebrated on 28 April of every year. This day is celebrated to promote the prevention of accidents and diseases occurs at work place, globally.

Aim of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The world day for safety and health at work is an campaign to raise awareness, intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work related deaths and injuries.It pay attentions on the need of ensuring better infrastructure, making laws and recognising emerging occupational risks to make the work place safer for the workers.

History behind the Great day

The world Day for safety and health at work has been observed globally since 2003. It was a great initiative taken by the International Labour Organisation(ILO) to highlight the prevention of accidents and diseases at work.This day is also observed as an International Day for Dead and Injured Workers.

This year the World Day for Safety and Health at Work focuses on enhancing social dialogue towards a culture of safety and health.
