Odisha’s Chief Minister opens a phone banking centre in Bhubaneshwar

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a cutting-edge phone banking centre in the city of Maitri Vihar on August 23. The centre has employed 1,200 people, 60% of whom are women.

V.K. Pandian, Secretary to the CM (5-T), was present, and Sandeep Batra, Executive Director of ICICI Bank, delivered the welcome address.

AI and robotics used to power the banking centre

Artificial intelligence and robotics have been used to power the banking centre. It is well-equipped to serve the Bank’s retail, business, and corporate clients throughout the country.

The Chief Minister thanked the Bank’s officials for introducing modern technology into the banking system.

“It can bring efficiency to the system and can provide hassle-free seamless service to the customers”, he emphasised. He asked the ICICI Bank to further scale up the centre and provide more job opportunities. He also assured that the state will extend all support to the endeavour.
